Stormgate is an action game from Frost Giant Studios. This game features real-time strategy elements to put players in the middle of a war between humanity and alien invaders. View every step of the battle in a 3D third-person view. There are also multiple game modes, both single-player and multiplayer. Play campaigns alone or as a team, or fight in the game servers against other players.

Its mix of fantasy, science-fiction, and quality visuals makes Stormgate a worthy game under Frost Giant. The team includes former Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and StarCraft II developers. The game's currently in its open beta playtest stage.

Experience humanity’s last stand

Stormgate is set in the distant future, and you can play as either an Earthling or a demonic infernal. Depending on your choice, you get to build a base and explore techs unique to them. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, this game is designed to offer support for high-resolution, high-definition visuals at 4K resolution. It can showcase hundreds of unit models engaged in grand, large-scale battles across various maps and tile sets.

As mentioned, it also has a healthy selection of game modes that work for both single and multiplayer modes. For the campaigns, you can tackle it solo or with friends in a cooperative session. Similarly, you can join public matchmaking servers alone or with your squad to participate in competitive player-vs-player or PvP battles. Additionally, as it promises to be a fully free-to-play experience, the developers offer no in-game purchases that offer any form of gameplay advantages. You will have to grind for every feature you would want to unlock. However, it can take some time before the game builds up its player base, which translates to longer queuing times, especially for multiplayer games.

Infernal host faction unveils

The Infernal Host is a counterpart to the Zerg from its predecessor, StarCraft 2. At the heart of the Infernal faction lies a crucial gameplay mechanic known as the Shroud—an enchanting aura enveloping select Host buildings. The presence of the Shroud bestows remarkable advantages upon Infernal units engaged in combat within its boundaries. Within this faction, three key Infernal units are highlighted: the Brute, the Fiend, and the Imp. Each unit boasts distinct abilities and talents, ready to be showcased on the battlefield.

Beyond gameplay, the developer has unveiled additional advancements concerning the game's soundtracks. Notably, The Chainsmokers, the Grammy award-winning EDM and DJ duo, have joined the project as advisors. In music composition, the expertise of two renowned composers who have left their mark on past real-time strategy classics comes into play. Tracy W. Bush and Frank Klepacki have embarked on the journey to craft an immersive original soundtrack, enriching the auditory experience. However, this game is currently in closed Alpha tests and active development.
